What is BJJ
Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is functional combat sport, focusing mainly on the ground fighting and grappling. The main aim in to get the fight to the gound nad defeat opponent by joint locks or chokeholds. Sounds cruel? It absolutely is not! Training Brazilian jiu-jitsu is superfun, training sessions are safe, exciting and challenging to the body and mind. BJJ classes are a great way to improve your physical health, get in shape, meet other nice people and learn and practice functional self-defense in a recreational setting.
BJJ classes in Tartu Fightsport Gym Võimla
Tartu Fightsport Gym Võimla was the first ever BJJ gym in Estonia. Here, in Tartu, we started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2003.
During the years we have learned a lot about the sport, teaching and motivating our students, but the main core of the classes has stayed the same – our classes are functional, “real”, safe to the participants, we have the best BJJ coaches in Town and one of the best members community in the world :)
Võimla BJJ classes are divided into three levels:
• Groundfighting Basic Course: it is the 101 of BJJ – suitable for beginners;
• BJJ Level 2: transition classes after the completing the Basic Course and before joining our advanced classes;
• BJJ advanced: training sessions for colored belts and for those with whitebelt with four stripes.
